Welcome

I'm Kyle, and I am a Marine Corps Officer from Georgia.  I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for almost 3 years and I had just moved back to the U.S. and was stationed in Camp Pendleton, California in May of 2010.  I really didn’t know anyone in the San Diego area, and I had been single for almost 6 years due to my training and traveling around the world.  So, I decided to try Match.com and put myself out there and pursue the dating world.

Sarah is a nurse from Iowa.  She worked in Iowa after college and finally decided to pursue her dream of becoming a travel nurse in order to see new places.  Her first assignment was San Diego, California.  So, she moved too out here in September of 2010 and joined Match.com for the same reasons that I did.

I had been on Match.com for about 5 months and had emailed several girls.  However, only a few emailed me back and out of those few, I didn’t feel a real connection with any of them.  I was getting pretty frustrated and was very close to giving up and canceling my subscription.

Finally, I ran across Sarah’s profile.  She was (and still is) so beautiful and we had so much in common.  She seemed so full of life and shared a lot of the same traits.  I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a chance and go for it.  Just by looking at her, I knew something was special about her.  So, I emailed her, trying to be cool and calm, and anxiously waited for a hopeful response.

Much to my surprise, Sarah emailed me back and sounded so sweet and so amazing. When we finally met up, I knew from that moment that something special was going to happen between us.

A few days after we met, I took her out on a “real” date.  I hadn’t been on a date in years, so naturally I was very nervous.  However, because we had met up a few days prior, a lot of the “first date jitters” were relieved and we really enjoyed the date.  I took her to a nice dinner and then, because she loves Halloween so much, I took her to a haunted house.  We were like two high school kids as we tried to sneak in a few “hand holds” through the haunted house.

Everyday we fall more and more in love with each other.  We began subtly talking about marriage one day and were both very comfortable about the possibility of sharing our lives together.  We truly are a perfect match and I can’t imagine anyone else more perfect for me and that I would want to share my life with.

In October 2011, literally yesterday as I write this note to you, after weeks of scheming and planning, I proposed to Sarah on the Ellen Degeneres Show.  Sarah has always been a huge Ellen fan and I knew I had to do whatever it takes to get Sarah on the show and propose to her.  We were even more surprised by the generous check ($50,000!!!!) that Match provided us with for our dream wedding!

We are both so excited for what the future has in store for us!  We never dreamed that we would find our soul mates through online dating, but thanks to Match.com, we have found our perfect match and can plan our dream wedding. We are happier than we have ever been!

The ceremony site is the Casa Del Rey Moro Gardens in the world famous Balboa Park.  This elaborate gardens is in the heart of Balboa Park and is adjacent to the Spreckles Amphitheater, Japanese Friendship Gardens, and El Prado.  Our guest will be treated to white padded chairs encompassing the reflecting pool and beautiful views of the wishing well.

The reception hall is the Grand Ballroom at The Prado.  This elegant and unique ballroom features beautiful hardwood floors, a 27-foot high hand-stenciled ceiling, custom lacy chandeliers, skylights, a fully equipped theatrical stage and what is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Kyle and I want to thank you all for being a part of our special day and to help contribute to our Honeymoon with this registry! We cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together, and to start that journey on the beautiful islands of Bora Bora and Moorea! 8-4-12 can't come soon enough. Thank you for your love and support!
